Women's Indian Attire

Women's south asian attire varies in price and styles. I would recommend wearing a Lengha, Salwar set, Anarkali set, or Sharara set to the wedding. Sari's are tricky when it comes to draping and I would only suggest you plan on wearing one if you buy one pre draped  or "readymade" one. When searching here are some key words you can use to find the specific style you are looking for:
  • Lengha
  • Salwar set
  • Sharara set
  • Anarkali set
  • Sari

Lenghas

Lenghas are a long skirt with a shorter top and dupatta. I would highly recommend wearing a lengha to the wedding. Here are some example lenghas:

Salwar, Sharara, and Anarkali Set

Salwar, Sharara, and Anarkalis are a sets that consists of a long top with pants underneath and a dupatta(scarf)! Here are some examples of these types of sets:

Sari

A Sari is a blouse and a long, unstitched piece of fabric that drapes around the body. If you are looking for a sari style please either buy a premade/pre-draped sari or make sure you have a south asian friend, also attending the wedding, willing to drape if for you.

My Indian aunties and friends, feel free to wear your favourite saris. I would recommend wearing kanchivaram or banaras! Here are some examples of saris:
